Chantal Lang
Meet Chantal Lang from Warren, MI. She has been battling lupus for 30 years and recently beat cancer.
Chantal’s Story:
I was diagnosed with lupus after experiencing swelling and severe joint pain, particularly in my ankles. Thankfully, my lupus is currently in remission but I was recently diagnosed with multiple myeloma.
While my doctors say there is no direct connection to lupus, based on the research I’ve done and my understanding of how lupus can affect the immune system, I feel it may have made me more susceptible to developing multiple myeloma. I have since undergone a stem cell transplant and had the incredible moment of ringing the bell as a cancer survivor. Thank you, Jesus!
I believe what has helped me most on this health journey is choosing to never give up. Fight for your life. Don't accept death as the final answer, tell God you believe in his healing. NEVER GIVE UP!!!
Remember the Bible states Psalm 30:5, for his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning. God Bless You!
What is one piece of advice you would give to someone who is newly diagnosed?: Keep in contact with your doctors and follow their instructions faithfully.
What is one misconception you wish you could change about lupus?: At this time I don't have any misconception, but I will say people should realize that lupus is different in each patient.
What brings you joy?: Worshipping and serving God in my church and helping others in need.
