May is Lupus Awareness Month!
May is a time for the lupus community across the country to join together to raise awareness of the physical, emotional and economic impact of lupus. We’re launching the “Real Hope for a Bright Tomorrow” campaign to help raise awareness, advocate for change and fight for a cure. We encourage Michiganders to help raise awareness in the following ways:
Support special events in your area
Wear purple and tag us on social media, especially World Lupus Day on May 10th
Share information on social media, in your community and with family and friends
We’ve provided a Lupus Awareness Month toolkit below to make digital sharing easy.

With knowledge there’s hope. The more we know about lupus, the better equipped we are to fight this debilitating disease.
Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that causes the body to attack its own healthy tissues and organs. It can affect any part of the body causing widespread pain and inflammation. Even though there is no cure, through medication and other treatments, there is a lot we can do to control symptoms.
